Day 5 — Evolution

After a long break, I was thrilled to go back to Psicofonia Studio to start the production stage of my songs. We started to work on my song ‘Unforgiven’, one of the favorite songs of the people that have listened to my mockups.

This process is a valuable learning experience for me. Bear in mind that I have been working on these songs for at least a year. So I have to keep in mind that my mockups are not the final product, but a gateway to collaboration. Some ideas I’ll have to let go to welcome new ones. When you have listened to a track for a long time, even if some parts don’t seem right, you begin to get used to them. You embrace them, though they are probably not the best choices. Here a producer’s feedback is crucial, but even more crucial is that you and the producer are on the same page creatively. You have to feel that you’re evolving; transforming your ideas into something greater, not tearing them apart. And I’m happy to tell you that our process has been great so far. We finished working on ‘Unforgiven’ :) and I can’t wait for you to hear it!

Today we’re moving on to the next song. I hope I’m finally brave enough to take a bit of video or photos so I can show you where we’re working.
